Position: Quality Control Engineer

Concord Construction is seeking a talented and seasoned Quality Control Engineer to join our team. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and directing a diverse array of projects from inception through to finalisation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures specific to construction projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and address any quality issues or defects promptly.
  • Analyse data from inspections and tests to identify trends and areas for improvement in construction practices.
  • Work with project teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of quality control processes, inspection results, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality standards are understood and met.
  • Provide training and support to site staff on quality control procedures and standards.
  • Communicate quality control issues and improvement plans to management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all quality control activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on quality control activities, findings, and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities and site inspections.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • From 2 to 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction standards, building codes, and quality control methodologies.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and relevant certification (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality control software.
  • Certification in Quality Control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
